FAQ

By real, you mean fair-trade, certified organic, premium, and wild-crafted (that means we walk in the forest alot to pick plants and make teas from them), and grown without chemicals, then yes. You can drink our tea and feel good about yourself and the planet, and become your own Captain Planet!
At the moment our ingredients that are certified organic are noted on each package. We grow a fair number of them ourselves using only organic methods so we label these as *wild-harvested or locally grown. What we can tell you is that we never use chemicals on any of the plants we grown and harvest, there are never any artifical sweeteners or artificial flavours or colours in our teas. We use only natural sugars (honey, maple sugar or syrup and stevia).

If you want cute cupcake decorations in your tea, go to your local shop at the mall. We don't do that shit here.
Tea can boost exercise endurance. Scientists have found that the catechins (antioxidants) in green tea extract increase the body's ability to burn fat as fuel, which accounts for improved muscle endurance. Drinking tea could help reduce the risk of heart attack.

The act of making tea (boiling the water, chosing your favourite mug or cup, choosing which Geek+Tea you'll have, sitting and waiting for it to steep) is a ritual, one that promotes you to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life.

Tea helps fight free radicals (damn hippies ... ). Tea is high in oxygen radical absorbance capacity, which is a fancy way of saying that it helps destroy free radicals (which can damage DNA) in the body. While our bodies are designed to fight free radicals on their own, they’re not 100 percent effective — and since damage from these radical oxygen ninjas has been linked to cancer, heart disease and neurological degeneration, we’ll take all the help we can get.

Green tea has been found to improve bone mineral density and strength.

Tea might be an effective agent in the prevention and treatment of neurological diseases, especially degenerative diseases (think Alzheimer’s). While many factors influence brain health, polyphenols in green tea may help maintain the parts of the brain that regulate learning and memory.

Tea is hydrating to the body (even despite the caffeine!).

And unlike coffee, you don't get those crazy jitters and hard crashes.

Tea is awesome.
Because only life, the universe and everything requires a good cuppa. We want to make sure that you have high quality products, tea that is organic, and fair-trade and is not adulterated with artificial flavours and colours.

Although great wars have been fought over tea, we prefer to Keep Calm and Put The Kettle On! and keep the peace and ponder the meaning of life. If you haven't figured it out yet, we are pretty geeky. The answer by the way is 42.
We love you too! And yes, we want to talk to you. What you'll need to do is email us at info@geekandtea.ca with an inquiry. Tell us who you are, your hobbies and your favourite fandom, and how much tea you are looking for, and any important dates, like when you need the tea by. We'll respond and let me know whether it is doable.

If you are a registered company we can offer you wholesale pricing so be sure to have a copy of your certificate handy to attach to said email.

If you are looking for bulk orders, we can also do this. We have hundreds of minions (well a couple of friends and family) willing to pack things up for you. Give us an idea of what you are looking for. Just remember when shipping, consider that we are North of the Border ie. Canadian, eh! and there may be delay times at the border and additional customs charges. We bill all shipping costs separate to your tea order and send registered with UPS or Canada Post.

We will need two-three weeks for large orders. Please contact us sooner rather than later as it takes time to package and order in supplies. We hate to be super rushed and would prefer to avoid 3am cram sessions. We are too old for that even though we are in our mid-30s. Everything is starting to feel old.
Yes! You can do this for $5 per tea - because we have a fancy printer. It's cool, we can print on demand. However, bear (grr ...) in mind that if we need to make major adjustments beyond swapping in an image, we'll charge you $35 / hour. All printing is on 100% recycled paper, and has a matte finish. Pretty cunnin' don'tcha think?
At this point we do not do custom blended teas. But if you have ideas, send them our way. You never know what may happen
Hopefully some day! But at the moment we are not currently hiring. If you are looking for WOOFING (organic farming, not dog walking) experience send us your resume. We offer accommodation in exchange for farm work.
